Here is how to lower your yeast cost even more. Sam’s club sells large bricks that you can freeze, but still use like normal yeast. 2 bricks for only about $4.

in the interest of frugality, did you know that those jars of ‘fast-rise’ yeast keep much longer than the expy date? Just keep the jar in the freezer. Mine expired a couple of years ago and I just take it out, use it frozen and put the jar back in the freezer. It’s expensive stuff, but if I can keep it working, it’s worth it.
