Apparently there&#039;s something in/on the skin of mangoes that is similar (I think in the same family) as poison ivy/oak.  I have a friend who got a horrible case of poison ivy from a mango.  He didn&#039;t know that you don&#039;t eat the skin  and took a big bite out of the mango.
