It is 100% gluten free, but made from soy protein. Not sure if your boys can have the soy protein or not. Most people soy intolerant still can. Braggs is a liquid amino spray & very healthy even for those without allergies. You can spray it on anything & also use it in cooking. It's sold at most health food stores as well as regular grocers in the natural section. My kids love it!

I have a great alternative to soy sauce! Finally, I use fish sauce, although I think that might be an acquired taste.

If you’re avoiding soy, (and gluten) but can have other things, you might try a peanut ginger flavor with peanut butter, a small amount of vinegar, honey, and salt; or a chili garlic sauce (go light for the kids) which I like to combine with a sweetener as well. So no soy sauce for us!

:) Erin

Hey girls! Thanks so much for looking into the gluten thing. I was wondering if you avoid soy sauce because of the gluten? If so, I found a gluten free soy sauce at a Whole Foods store in our area. Maybe you can find some wherever you are?? :)

Thanks for this recipe and this blog, it’s really cool!
