If I am using a marinade (i.e., 30 Minute Marinade) and I'm making some potatoes with the meat, I will add a little bit of water (3/4 cup to 1 cup) because the marinade can sometimes be a bit too strong. Hope this helps!

I have also had problems with things burning (around the edges) when I cook in my corck pot, so whatever kind of meat I’m using, I will add a little bit of either beef broth or chicken broth. You just pick up the whole mess when you are thru and the pot is spotless. Great invention.

You can also use crock pot liners. I find that I need to add some water (1/4-1/2 cup) along with the sauce and it definitely works! The sauce is still a good consistency after cooking all day.
I love this site. We are newlyweds and this site is helping us start off on the right foot with our budget and eat healthy while doing it. So many of our friends ballooned right up after getting married because they were eating out 3-4 times a week. We feel really good about starting off our marriage this way.

Doris – I have the same problem with BBQ sauce in the crockpot.
