Doris - I have the same problem with BBQ sauce in the crockpot. I find that I need to add some water (1/4-1/2 cup) along with the sauce and it definitely works! The sauce is still a good consistency after cooking all day.

I love this site. We are newlyweds and this site is helping us start off on the right foot with our budget and eat healthy while doing it. So many of our friends ballooned right up after getting married because they were eating out 3-4 times a week. We feel really good about starting off our marriage this way.

I love your blog. There is so much out there which is worthless, but this is a real gold mine of quality information. Many thanks from a grateful surfer - Beth Little.

I finally had a chance to make this today.(Our schedules have been so hectic because my girls were both in the high school play and I'm president of the parent group.) OMG...it was so good and so easy! Definitely will make again because everyone enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

I would love to do these dinner at $5 but here in NY I find prices to be so much higher. (sigh) I aim for $10 and usually beat it but I sure would love those ribs at any price!

Because country ribs have so much fat, which turns to grease, I hold off on the bbq sauce until the ribs are cooked (8 hours later). I then take the ribs off the bone, place the shredded/cubed/fall off the bone meat onto a baking pan. I sprinkle bbq sauce on them and pop them in a 400 degree oven for 10 minutes. This will keep the meat from tasting so greasy and it caramelizes the bbq sauce w/out burning it.

HTH

Jackie- These fed the 4 of us easily. 2 adults, 2 kids.

Doris- There was some darker browning, but not burnt, on the edge of my crockpot. No trouble on the meat. Perhaps cook it on high and check it every hour and watch when it starts to get darker brown. Then switch to low for another hour, then off. That's all I can think of.

Anyone else have any ideas?

I have had a lot of trouble doing BBQ sauce in my crockpot. Everytime I do, it burns and my meat gets this burned taste to it as well. Do you have any suggestions? (I do use the low setting when cooking, so I don't know what else I can do!)
