reuse supplies from last year (example: Go through all your old notebooks and neatly tear off the unused pages. You can now use these pages as loose leaf) and add lace trim to skirts and pants for a new look.

  2. Megan W. says

even though it will be crowded, I’m hitting the stores on tax free weekend. Coupled with sales and coupons the extra incentive of tax free will help on clothes and supplies!

  3. ellen says

I plan to save on school supplies this year by using online coupons and paying attention to those on twitter I follow like Staples and Best Buy etc when they tweet sales

  4. Mmmom says

I’ve been buying school supplies over the past year when I see them on sale. We shouldn’t need to much at this point!

  5. karen says

I’m always watching for deals and clearance sales. I have a big plastic container that I put extra school supplies into from deals and such throughout the year. Clothes are a little tougher but I’m grateful they aren’t into the expensive name brands! Sometimes I get lucky and Kohls has the nice stuff in the 60-80% clearance and the sizes are right!

  6. LinhC says

I’m stocking up on the items that my kids go through quickly. I also stock up on items that usually doesn’t go on sale like presentation boards.

  7. Candace says

I am saving on school supplies this year by checking out the circulars and blogs every week and figuring out where the best deals are for the supplies on my children’s lists. A 25-cent box of crayons here, and 50-cent scissors there…

  8. says

Well, I don’t buy new clothes for school, since we start in August 16th (still TOO hot). For everything else, I look through the ads and only buy the best deals.

  9. Debbie Taylor says

I plan to save money this year by shopping the sales. I will be buying a few supplies each week, till school starts.

  10. Brooke H. says

I have already been stocking up on supply sales at Walmart, etc. How can you refuse a $ .10 glue stick?

  11. Stephanie says

I just watch the sales and buy ahead when I can. I have a general sense of what will be on my child’s school supply list each year, and I buy these items whenever I see them at a great price.
